This year no Joint Seat Acceptance Committee for IITs & NITs

This year no Joint Seat Acceptance Committee for under-graduate programs in the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology as decided by the Center. The reason for this decision is delay in declaration of results and counseling.

Last month Joint Seat Acceptance Committee was set to ensure that there is no blocking as well as vacant seat after counseling. HRD Ministry issued a notification for the candidates for 2013 admissions who are offered seats through JEE(advanced) 2013 or via Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will be shown results for seat allocation via a joint portal.

The role of the committee is to identify if the candidate is allotted two seats then the committee will convey to the board that which seat is retained and which is returned by the candidate.
